- Terroir : Graves de Pessac-Léognan, gravelly and clay-limestone soils, temperate climate – the perfect alliance for wines with vibrant minerality and elegant structure.
- Vinification : Aged in oak barrels, a meticulous blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc – a pursuit of purity and balance, without artifice.
Tasting notes for Château Haut-Brion 2017 Double Magnum
- In the glass : Deep purple robe with garnet reflections, of a silky density and crystalline brilliance, heralding a substance that is at once generous and precise.
- On the nose : First, notes of fresh blackcurrant and wild blackberry, followed by a hint of cedar and blonde tobacco, before opening onto a chalky minerality and a subtle touch of graphite.
- On the palate : Velvety attack, silky-fine tannins, lively acidity and saline tension carrying a long, elegant finish marked by aromas of licorice and undergrowth.
