From the gravelly soils of Pessac-Léognan, Château Haut-Brion 2000 captivates with its nose of blackberry, tobacco and vanilla. On the palate, its velvety tannins and mineral touch make it a wine of great finesse. Ideal with roasted meats, it can age until 2035.
Château Haut-Brion
Nestled in the heart of Pessac-Léognan, this historic estate has embodied Bordeaux excellence since the 16th century, combining family tradition and innovation.
- Terroir : Deep, well-drained gravel soils, typical of the Graves terroir, impart a chalky minerality and a rare elegance to the wines.
- Winemaking : A rigorous parcel selection and aging in French oak barrels, for cuvées of remarkable precision and complexity.
Tasting notes for Château Haut-Brion Rouge 2000
- To the eye : A deep garnet red robe, of a silky density, with highlights still vibrant despite the years.
- On the nose : First, aromas of fresh blackcurrant and wild blackberry, followed by toasted notes of cedar and blonde tobacco, then a saline hint of graphite and a touch of candied mango, all wrapped in a chalky minerality.
- On the palate : A velvety and taut texture, carried by a precise acidity and a tannic framework of great finesse, giving way to nuances of mocha and roasted praline, for a long and saline finish.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2000
A sunny and generous vintage, marked by optimal ripeness of the grapes, offering a perfect balance between power and elegance.
- Aging potential : Can be cellared for another 15 to 20 years in a cool cellar (12–14°C), away from light, for a harmonious evolution.
