Château Haut-Brion 2005, Premier Grand Cru Classé of Pessac-Léognan, flourishes on the multicolored Graves. Nose of cocoa, liquorice and blackberry, aged 87% in new oak barrels. Fleshy, fresh palate with silky tannins. A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. To be savoured until 2070 with duck breast or game.
A pioneer of the great Bordeaux crus since 1533, this family estate embodies the excellence of the Graves, where time sculpts wines of rare elegance.
- Terroir : Multicolored Graves of Pessac-Léognan, gravelly and clay-limestone soils that lend the wines a distinctive minerality and a precise structure.
- Vinification : A meticulous blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, aged in new oak barrels for a harmony between power and finesse.
Tasting notes for the wine Château Haut-Brion Haut-Brion 2005
To the eye: a deep red robe with garnet reflections, of silky density and crystalline brilliance that already heralds its complexity.
On the nose: an enchanting bouquet where ripe dark fruits, gentle spices, a hint of havana and roasted coffee mingle, lifted by a subtle chalky note and a saline touch that evokes the gravels of the terroir.
On the palate: a velvety and generous texture, carried by a lively acidity and a persistent minerality, stretching into a finish of remarkable length, where aromas of liquorice and light tobacco unfold.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its aromas.

A vintage marked by a historic drought, where the concentration of the grapes gave birth to a wine of exceptional density and longevity.
- Aging potential : To be kept until 2070 under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity and absence of light).
