Tasting notes for Château Montrose 1998 To the eye – A garnet red robe with tile-like reflections, dense and slightly viscous, betraying a silky maturity. On the nose – Aromas of candied blackcurrant, wild blackberry and cedar mingle with notes of light tobacco, licorice and a saline touch reminiscent of sea spray. On the palate – A fleshy yet taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and still firm tannins, with a long and spicy finish, where a chalky minerality shines through. Serve between 16 and 18°C, in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
