Tasting Notes for Pétrus 2022
To the eye: A deep, almost opaque purple robe with silky reflections and a crystalline brilliance.
On the nose: Aromas of wild blackberry and fresh blackcurrant, followed by a hint of violet, then gentle spices and a subtle chalky note, like a mineral breath rising from the soils.
On the palate: A velvety, almost unctuous texture, carried by a lively acidity and a saline tension; the finish, long and precise, reveals nuances of liquorice and roasted cocoa.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
2022 Vintage
A vintage marked by early ripeness and remarkable concentration, where cool nights preserved the balance of the fruit.
- Aging potential: 20 to 40 years, to be stored in a cellar at a stable temperature (12–14°C) and away from light.
