Tasting Notes for Pétrus 1983
To the eye: Deep garnet robe with tawny reflections, of a silky density and crystalline brilliance.
On the nose: Aromas of ripe black cherry, lightly smoked black tea, sweet licorice, and damp undergrowth, lifted by a saline and chalky touch.
On the palate: Velvety yet taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and discreet minerality, with a long and persistent finish where candied fruits and gentle spices intertwine.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
