Peyre Rose Marlène N°3 2013, an organic red from the Côteaux du Languedoc, comes from the clay-limestone terroirs of Saint-Pargoire. Aged ten years, it offers blackcurrant, violet and smoky aromas, a silky palate and a lingering finish. Aging potential: 20 years. Pair with game.
Founded by Marlène Soria, this estate embodies the exacting standards of a lesser-known Languedoc, rooted in Saint-Pargoire.
- Terroir: Rocky clay-limestone soils of the Côteaux du Languedoc, where Mediterranean warmth is tempered by mineral freshness.
- Winemaking: Patient aging for 10 years, mainly in tanks with a period in large oak casks, followed by bottle aging for a pure expression of the terroir.
Tasting notes for Domaine Peyre Rose Côteaux du Languedoc Marlène N°3 2013
In the glass – Deep garnet, with a silky texture and chalky density that already hints at the wine’s complexity.
On the nose – Lively black raspberry and blackcurrant first, followed by richer notes of jammy cherry and violet, ending with a smoky touch and discreet salinity.
On the palate – A precise opening, with velvety tannins and taut acidity, while clay-limestone minerality structures a long, slightly bitter finish with lingering Mediterranean herbs.
Serve at 16–18 °C in a Burgundy-style red wine glass to reveal its full depth.
