The Ponsot Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2012, from old vines, combines aromas of blackberry and spices with a fine and mineral tannic structure. Aged in barrels, this Pinot Noir balances power and elegance on the palate. Perfect after 10 years of cellaring, it pairs beautifully with game or porcini mushroom risotto.
A Burgundian institution since 1872, Domaine Ponsot cultivates a family heritage rooted in the Grands Crus of the Côte de Nuits, where each plot tells the story of an exceptional terroir.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone and marly soils of the Clos de Vougeot, cradle of age-worthy wines with mineral and profound nuances.
- Vinification: Traditional methods, aged in oak barrels for a pure expression of Pinot Noir, without artifice.
Tasting notes for Domaine Ponsot Clos de Vougeot Cuvée Vieilles Vignes 2012
To the eye – An intense ruby robe with garnet reflections, of a silky density that heralds a generous and precise substance.
On the nose – Aromas of black cherry and wild blackberry intertwine with notes of damp undergrowth, liquorice and white pepper, lifted by a chalky and saline touch.
On the palate – Velvety and taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a limestone minerality, with a long and elegant finish where gentle spices and ripe fruits linger.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
