The Griottes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2011 from Domaine Ponsot, born on the limestone hillsides of the Côte de Nuits, reveals the finesse of Pinot Noir. Notes of red fruits, leather and spices, a rich palate and silky tannins. Perfect with duck breast or cheeses, it will keep until 2030.
Nestled in the heart of Morey-Saint-Denis since 1872, this family estate embodies the soul of Burgundy through wines of rare authenticity.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils of the Grand Crus of the Côte de Nuits, where Pinot Noir reveals its nobility with a chalky minerality and unique depth.
- Vinification: Aged in old oak barrels, without filtration or fining, to preserve the purity of the fruit and the tension of the terroir.
Tasting notes for the wine Domaine Ponsot Griottes-Chambertin 2011
To the eye – A deep ruby robe with garnet highlights, of silky density and a brilliance that already heralds its complexity.
On the nose – First, fresh notes of morello cherry and black cherry, then more enveloping nuances of aged leather, liquorice and nutmeg, before a saline touch that recalls the limestone subsoil of the terroir.
On the palate – A velvety yet taut texture, where lively acidity and chalky minerality support a ripe and precise fruit, leading to a long, elegant finish marked by a persistent salinity.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy glass to fully release its aromas.
