This Ponsot Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes 2006, a Pinot Noir from Chambolle-Musigny, comes from limestone soils. Aged in barrels, it marries red fruits, spices and minerality. On the palate, its silky texture and saline freshness enchant. Ideal until 2025 with game or cheeses.
Nestled in the heart of Morey-Saint-Denis since 1872, this family estate embodies Burgundian exigence, combining tradition and precision in the crafting of its Côte de Nuits wines.
- Terroir: Limestone and clay-limestone soils from the grands crus and premiers crus of Burgundy, where Pinot Noir reveals a chalky minerality and silky elegance.
- Vinification: Late harvest, aging in old oak barrels and respect for the fruit, yielding cuvées of vibrant tension and excellent aging potential.
Tasting notes for Domaine Ponsot Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes 2006
To the eye: A garnet red robe with tawny hues, of dense and luminous texture, already betraying a harmonious maturity.
On the nose: Freshness of morello cherry and crunchy raspberry, followed by notes of undergrowth, licorice and a saline hint of flint, evoking the limestone soils of Chambolle.
On the palate: A silky attack, fine but present tannins, supported by lively acidity and a chalky minerality that extends the finish into a long aromatic persistence.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
