Vincent Dauvissat Chablis Grand cru Les Preuses 2018
The Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses 2018 from Domaine Vincent Dauvissat reveals Kimmeridgian soils. Fermented in tank and aged in barrel, this Chardonnay offers aromas of citrus and white flowers, a saline palate and a mineral finish. Ideal with oysters, to enjoy through 2030.
Domaine Vincent Dauvissat
Heir to a family tradition rooted in the hillsides of Chablis, this estate embodies the demands of an exceptional terroir and a commitment to a pure, mineral and timeless style.
- Terroir : Kimmeridgian soils of the Chablis Grand Cru appellation, where fossilized marls sculpt wines of unique tension and minerality.
- Vinification : Traditional methods – manual harvesting, fermentation in tank and barrel, patient aging to reveal the purity of the Chardonnay.
Tasting notes for Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses 2018
- To the eye : Golden robe with pale highlights, of silky clarity and chalky density, like a gleam of stone polished by time.
- On the nose : Aromas of white flowers and crisp orchard fruits – tart apple, Williams pear – intertwined with notes of orange oil, iodine and oyster shell, carried by a saline and mineral touch.
- On the palate : A broad and enveloping attack, where the lively tension of the Chardonnay marries a smooth texture, while the salinity and minerality draw out a long, electric finish of remarkable precision.
To be served between 12 and 14°C, in a white Burgundy wine glass to bring out its complexity.
Vintage 2018
A vintage marked by generous ripeness and preserved acidity, offering a rare balance between richness and freshness for this Grand Cru.
- Aging potential : To be cellared for 10 to 15 years in a cool cellar (12–14°C) and away from light, to allow its mineral and fruity complexity to fully develop.
