Montrachet Grand Cru Marquis de Laguiche 2023, from the chalky terroirs of Montrachet. This Chardonnay, aged in barrels, reveals floral notes and a precise minerality. The palate is silky, lively, with a saline finish. Perfect for 8 to 15 years, with crustaceans or cheeses.
A family estate founded in 1880, Joseph Drouhin has embodied Burgundian standards of excellence for four generations. Rooted in the Côte d'Or, it combines tradition and precision to reveal the purity of the great terroirs.
- Terroir : The 2.06 hectares of Montrachet Grand Cru, shared between Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet, rest on a brown-red soil scattered with calcareous pebbles – a chalky signature that imparts minerality and tension to the wines.
- Vinification : Manual harvesting, whole-cluster pressing and ageing for 18 to 21 months in French oak barrels (30% new) for a both silky and precise expression of the Chardonnay.
Appearance: a golden robe with green highlights, of crystalline clarity and an unctuous texture that already hints at its density.
On the nose: aromas of peach blossom and lily of the valley unfold into notes of exotic fruits, acacia honey and toasted almonds, lifted by a saline touch and a discreet woody imprint.
Palate: a silky attack, lively acidity and a structure tensioned by a chalky minerality; the finish stretches at length, blending citrus zests, soft spices and a lingering salinity.
Serve between 14 and 15 °C in a Burgundy glass to release its aromas.
A vintage marked by early ripeness and preserved freshness, offering wines of immediate elegance without sacrificing their ageing potential.
- Ageing potential : To be kept for 15 to 20 years in a cool cellar (12-14 °C) and away from light.
