The Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche 2021, Grand Cru de Bourgogne, is a Chardonnay aged in oak barrels. Nose of white flowers, toasted almonds and lime, with a chalky minerality. The palate, lively and silky, concludes with a saline finish. Perfect with seafood or poultry in sauce.
A family house founded in 1880, rooted in the heart of Burgundy, where respect for the terroir has guided every gesture for four generations.
- Terroir: the calcareous slopes of Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet, where the chalky soils and white pebbles sculpt the mineral elegance of the Chardonnay.
- Vinification: manual harvesting, patient ageing in French oak barrels – a balance between purity of fruit and a discreet woody touch.
To the eye: a golden robe with silky highlights, of a vibrant clarity.
On the nose: lily of the valley and peach blossom unfold into notes of exotic fruits, then give way to accents of honey and toasted almonds – a saline touch in filigree.
On the palate: an unctuous and taut texture, carried by a precise acidity and a chalky minerality, for a finish of saline, persistent length.
Serve at 14-15°C in a large, wide-mouthed Burgundy glass.
A vintage marked by freshness and tension, where the ripeness of the grapes is allied with a mineral vivacity.
- Ageing potential: 15 to 20 years, to be kept in a cool cellar (12-14°C) away from light.
