The Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche 2022 by Joseph Drouhin, Grand Cru de Montrachet, reveals unique limestone soils. This barrel-aged Chardonnay unveils floral and fruity aromas. Silky, mineral and persistent palate. Ideal for 8 to 15 years, with shellfish or aged cheeses.
A family house since 1880, Joseph Drouhin embodies Burgundian excellence – a heritage of precision and respect for the terroir.
- Terroir: The vines are rooted on the hillsides of Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet, where the clay-limestone soils, rich in chalky marls, sculpt the mineral and elegant identity of Montrachet.
- Vinification: Patient ageing in French oak barrels (30% new oak), for a pure expression of Chardonnay, without artifice or heaviness.
In the glass: A golden robe with green highlights, of silky clarity and chalky density.
On the nose: Lily of the valley and peach blossom unfold into fresh notes, followed by candied apricot, acacia honey and a saline touch evoking the breezes of the Côte de Beaune.
On the palate: Luscious yet taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and chalky minerality; the long, saline finish leaves an impression of flint and roasted almonds.
Serve at 14–15°C in a wide, flared Burgundy glass to release its complex aromas.
A vintage marked by early ripeness and aromatic concentration, where mineral freshness balances the richness of the fruit.
- Ageing potential: Store for 15 to 20 years in a cool cellar (12–14°C), away from light, to reveal its full complexity.
