Born on the clay-limestone soils of Bourgogne Passe-Tout-Grains, the François Lamarche 2019 from the eponymous estate blends Pinot Noir and Gamay into a fruity and spiced wine. Its fresh, mineral palate, of discreet elegance, pairs perfectly with poultry and simple dishes.
Heir to a family expertise rooted in Vosne-Romanée, this estate embodies the discreet elegance of Burgundy's great wines.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone and marly soils of the Côtes de Nuits, where prestigious appellations sit alongside more accessible cuvées, always marked by a chalky minerality.
- Vinification: A traditional and precise approach, favouring gentle fermentations and measured ageing to preserve the purity of the fruit and the tension of the grape varieties.
Tasting notes for Domaine Nicole Lamarche Passe-Tout-Grains 2019
To the eye: A light ruby robe with garnet highlights, of silky clarity and vivid brilliance, like the glint of a precious stone.
On the nose: Freshness of morello cherry and crunchy raspberry, followed by a touch of peony and a hint of gentle liquorice, all lifted by a subtle, damp-undergrowth salinity.
On the palate: Velvety texture and taut acidity, where notes of black cherry and a chalky minerality intertwine, leading to a long, precise finish carried by a light, refreshing bitterness.
Serve between 14 and 16°C, in a Burgundy glass to enhance its delicate aromas.
Vintage 2019
A generous and well-balanced vintage, where the ripeness of the fruit combines with a vibrant freshness typical of Burgundy's great wines.
- Ageing potential: To be enjoyed from now until 2026, stored in a cool place (12–14°C) away from light.
