Established in the heart of Vosne-Romanée since 1797, domaine de Lamarche owns one of the most coveted vine estates in the entire Côte de Nuits. Its absolute signature remains La Grande Rue, a grand cru operated as a monopole over one and a half hectares, nestled between La Romanée-Conti and La Tâche, two monopoles of the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. To these are added plots of Clos de Vougeot, Echezeaux and Grands Echezeaux, as well as a superb collection of premier crus from Vosne-Romanée. Farmed organically since 2010 and led by Nicole Lamarche, the estate today produces fragrant, elegant and refined Pinot Noirs that rank among the most sought-after in Burgundy.

Since the sudden death of François Lamarche in 2013, Domaine Lamarche has been managed by his daughter Nicole (who had already been vinifying the cuvées since 2007), and by François Lamarche's wife. A transition from sustainable farming to organic cultivation in 2010 helped bring an additional touch of elegance to the rather extensive range of wines from Domaine Lamarche. There are 4 Grands Crus, consisting of La Grande Rue, Grands Echezeaux, Echezeaux, and Clos Vougeot. A beautiful array of 4 superb 1er crus in Vosne Romanée: 1er Cru Suchots, 1er Cru Malconsorts, 1er Cru Les Chaumes, and 1er Cru La Croix Rameau. One 1er cru from Nuits Saint Georges: Les Cras. Few estates possess such a heritage of vines. Finally, Lamarche also produces a Vosne Romanée Village, a Hautes Côtes de Nuits, a Bourgogne Pinot Noir, and a white wine (from a small 0.3-hectare parcel of Bourgogne Aligoté).
The profile of the wines is rather focused on elegance and finesse, with a delicate and floral bouquet. Here, the grapes benefit from a double sorting before being destemmed at approximately 80%, before gently passing through the pneumatic press. The aging can prove to be marked, as it is based on a minimum of 60% new barrels. The entire team thus possesses a sumptuous heritage of crus and works to ensure that the best of the vineyard is found in the bottles produced, in a spirit of respect for the terroir. The wines are still at accessible prices, although the Grand Cru La Grande Rue, due to its truly exceptional position, elevates all the wines, thanks to a rather recent notoriety since the decree for this Monopole Grand Cru was only published in January 1992.
