Heir to a family expertise rooted in Vosne-Romanée since the early twentieth century, this estate embodies the discreet elegance of the great Burgundy Grand Crus.- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Nuits hillsides, the cradle of Grand Cru appellations such as Échezeaux, where Pinot Noir expresses its minerality and finesse.- Winemaking: A traditional approach, respectful of the fruit and the terroir, for wines of precise structure and patient aging.
Tasting notes for Domaine François Lamarche Échezeaux Grand Cru 1980
In the glass: Garnet robe with tawny hues, of a silky and slightly time-veiled texture, revealing a chalky density.
On the nose: Aromas of candied black cherry, damp undergrowth, sweet liquorice and forest mushroom, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of blonde tobacco.
On the palate: Velvety attack, lively acidity and tannins melted into a mineral framework, carried by a long and slightly spiced finish where the elegance of the terroir persists.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy glass to release its nuances.

A vintage marked by balanced ripeness, where the coolness of the nights preserved the tension of Pinot Noir despite moderate climatic conditions.
- Aging potential: At its peak today, this wine can still be kept for a few more years in a cool cellar (12–14°C) and away from light, provided it is handled with care.
