Sourced from the Les Rouges du Bas plots, the Clos Vougeot Grand Cru 2023 from Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg is a Pinot Noir aged 18 months in barrels. Black fruits, spices and minerality intertwine in a silky texture. Aging: 5–30 years. Pairings: game or cheeses.
Nestled in the heart of Vosne-Romanée, this family estate has perpetuated since 1933 a winemaking heritage of exacting standards and passion, crafting Burgundy wines of rare precision.
- Terroir : Iconic plots on the Côte de Nuits, where stony and calcareous soils, low in clay, sculpt Pinot Noir wines of vibrant minerality and timeless elegance.
- Vinification : An artisanal approach – manual harvesting, gentle maceration and aging in oak barrels – to reveal the purity of the fruit and the complexity of the terroir.
Tasting notes for Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Clos Vougeot Grand Cru 2023
To the eye – A deep ruby robe with garnet reflections, of silky density and crystalline brilliance.
On the nose – First a freshness of morello cherry and wild raspberry, then darker notes of blackberry and blackcurrant, before a hint of liquorice and undergrowth blossoms, carried by a chalky minerality and a touch of salinity.
On the palate – A smooth yet taut texture, where lively acidity and calcareous minerality balance a generous body, while fine and tightly knit tannins extend a finish of saline and spiced length.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its most subtle aromas.
