From east-facing limestone soils, the Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Chaignots 2016 combines dark fruits, spices and a floral touch. Its velvety palate and minerality make it a wine for cellaring (5–10 years), perfect with game and cheeses.

Heir to a family expertise in the Côte de Nuits, this estate embodies the elegance of the great wines of Burgundy, crafted by two passionate sisters.
- Terroir: Limestone soils and sloped parcels of the appellations Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne-Romanée and Chambolle-Musigny, where the Pinot Noir reveals its minerality.
- Vinification: Traditional methods combining precision and respect for the fruit, producing cuvées that are both taut and silky.
Tasting notes for Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Chaignots 2016
To the eye: A deep ruby robe with dense highlights, of an almost velvety texture, betraying a generous substance and beautiful concentration.
On the nose: First, aromas of black cherry and wild blackberry, followed by notes of violet and peony, before a touch of graphite and forest floor anchors the bouquet in a chalky minerality.
On the palate: A silky attack gives way to a vibrant tension, carried by fine tannins and a precise acidity, while a saline and persistent finish evokes the limestone pebbles of its terroir.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.

A vintage marked by optimal ripeness of the grapes, offering wines balanced between freshness and structure, ideal for patient cellaring.
- Aging potential: 5 to 10 years, to be cellared in a cool cellar (12–14°C) away from light.
