Tasting notes for the wine Domaine Duroché Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Estournelles Saint-Jacques 2017
To the eye – A garnet red robe with deep glints, of a silky and luminous texture, heralding a wine that is both dense and ethereal.
On the nose – Aromas of fresh black cherry, wild violet and soft liquorice, followed by a hint of damp undergrowth and a subtle chalky salinity, typical of the great terroirs of Gevrey.
On the palate – A lively and precise attack, carried by a taut acidity and a silky tannic structure, where ripe red fruits, gentle spices and a persistent minerality intertwine, leading to a long and harmonious finish.
