Les Cocus 2023, a white Loire wine from old-vine Chenin Blanc (1968) grown on gravelly soils. Vinified naturally, it captivates with its mineral and floral nose, notes of white fruits and a lively palate. Ideal with fish or cheeses, to be enjoyed young or within 5 years.

Nestled in Rablay-sur-Layon, this family estate embodies the union of an exceptional terroir and respectful viticulture, guided by Thomas Batardière's passion since 2012.
- Terroir : 4 hectares farmed biodynamically, where Chenin and Grolleau draw their character from the hillsides of the Loire Valley, between schists and clays.
- Vinification : Natural methods, aging in barrels and stainless-steel tanks for wines that are alive, precise and true to their origin.
Tasting notes for Thomas Batardière Les Cocus 2023
In the glass – A pale gold robe with green highlights, of silky clarity, like a shard of quartz polished by time.
On the nose – First a mineral, almost saline freshness, then notes of Williams pear, ripe quince and tart rhubarb, before opening onto a floral hint of linden blossom and a discreet chalky smokiness.
On the palate – A dense and vibrant texture, carried by a taut acidity that underscores a sharp minerality; the finish, long and saline, leaves an impression of purity and tension, like an echo of the gravelly soils of Faye d'Anjou.
Serve at 12°C in a Burgundy-style white wine glass to reveal its full complexity.
