Discover the Esprit Libre 2024, a Chenin Blanc from Anjou grown biodynamically on schist and red sand. Naturally fermented, this lively and mineral wine combines freshness and silkiness. With no added sulphur, it pairs with cheeses and white meats, and can be cellared for 2 to 4 years.
A family estate rooted in Rablay-sur-Layon, where Chenin Blanc flourishes on schist and quartz soils, shaping wines of rare purity.
- Terroir : Red sand and quartz gravel soils on a schist subsoil, in Anjou – a mineral signature and a characteristic tension.
- Vinification : Natural methods, spontaneous fermentations and aging on lees to preserve the energy and the directness of the fruit.
Tasting notes for the wine Thomas Batardière Esprit Libre 2024

On the nose – First notes of green apple and hawthorn blossom, followed by a touch of acacia honey and a saline hint.
On the palate – A silky and vibrant texture, carried by a lively acidity and a mineral tension that extends into a saline and persistent finish, of taut elegance.
