Thomas Batardière’s Ultraviolette 2022 sparkling rosé, from a clay-and-quartz plot in Anjou, expresses biodynamically grown Grolleau. Fermented in tank after 24 hours of maceration and aged three years on the lees, it offers a lively, fruity palate. With no added sulfur, it is perfect as an aperitif.
An estate rooted in Anjou, where biodynamic practices shape natural wines of rare purity.
- Terroir: The Loire Valley’s clay-limestone soils and quartz veins, the source of chalky minerality and vibrant freshness.
- Winemaking: Gentle methods and extended aging on the lees yield lively cuvées, without embellishment or added sulfur.

Appearance: A rosé hue with violet highlights, a silky, lightly sparkling texture, like a mineral veil catching the light.
On the nose: Aromas of fresh redcurrant, wild raspberry, and peach blossom, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of wet quartz.
On the palate: Fine, precise bubbles supported by taut acidity and chalky minerality, leading to a long, slightly wild finish.
