The Thomas Batardière Les Noëls de Montbenault 2024, from the volcanic rhyolite soils of Anjou, is a Chenin Blanc vinified in stainless steel and aged in barrels. Notes of yellow fruits, citrus, and chalky minerality, with a taut and fresh palate. Perfect until 2039 with fish or umami dishes.
Nestled in the heart of Anjou, this family domaine embodies the subtle alliance between a unique volcanic terroir and a winemaking approach respectful of living things.
- Terroir: Rhyolite soils at Rablay-sur-Layon – a rare volcanic rock, rich in silica and quartz, which lends the wines a distinctive minerality and remarkable tension.
- Winemaking: A natural and low-intervention approach – indigenous yeasts, aging in barrels, and reduced sulfur to preserve the purity of the Chenin Blanc.

On the palate: A lively and precise attack, carried by a taut acidity and full-bodied substance, while a long and saline finish gives way to nuances of candied citrus and white tea.
