The Thomas Batardière Esprit Libre 2023, from Chenin Blanc grown on the gravelly soils of Rablay-sur-Layon, offers a lively and floral palate. Aged in tanks and barrels, this mineral and balanced wine pairs with delicate dishes through 2031.

Tasting notes for Thomas Batardière Esprit Libre 2023
To the eye: A golden robe with pale highlights, of silky clarity, like a ray of sunlight filtered through the schists of the Loire.
On the nose: Aromas of acacia blossom and crunchy green apple, followed by notes of citrus honey and a saline touch reminiscent of sea spray, all carried by a chalky freshness.
On the palate: A taut and precise texture, where lively acidity is balanced by a stony minerality, leaving a long and saline finish, like an echo of the gravelly soils.
Serve at 12°C in a white Burgundy-style wine glass to bring out its purity.

A vintage marked by balanced ripeness, where cool nights have preserved the tension and aromatic complexity.
- Ageing potential: To be enjoyed through 2031, stored in a cool place (12–14°C) away from light.
