Tasting notes for Thomas Batardière Esprit Libre 2023
To the eye: A golden robe with pale highlights, of silky clarity, like a ray of sunlight filtered through the schists of the Loire.
On the nose: Aromas of acacia blossom and crunchy green apple, followed by notes of citrus honey and a saline touch reminiscent of sea spray, all carried by a chalky freshness.
On the palate: A taut and precise texture, where lively acidity is balanced by a stony minerality, leaving a long and saline finish, like an echo of the gravelly soils.
Serve at 12°C in a white Burgundy-style wine glass to bring out its purity.

A vintage marked by balanced ripeness, where cool nights have preserved the tension and aromatic complexity.
