Tasting notes for Château Cheval Blanc Petit Cheval 1989
To the eye – Deep garnet robe with tile-red highlights, of silky density and a brilliance preserved despite the decades.
On the nose – Aromas of candied prune, wild blackberry and blonde tobacco, lifted by notes of patinated leather, cedar and a saline touch reminiscent of damp undergrowth.
On the palate – Velvety and taut texture, where a lively acidity, a chalky minerality and melted tannins intertwine, leading to a long and harmonious finish marked by gentle spices.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.

A sun-drenched and generous vintage, where warmth and climatic balance allowed the grapes to reach optimal ripeness while preserving a remarkable freshness.
- Aging potential: To be enjoyed now or cellared for another 5 to 10 years in a cave with controlled temperature and humidity.
