Drawn from the gravelly and clay soils of Saint-Émilion, Petit Cheval 1989 (Château Cheval Blanc) is a blend of Merlot (72%) and Cabernet Franc (28%). Fruity and spiced, with elegant tannins and a mineral touch, it can be cellared for 10 to 15 years and pairs beautifully with red meats and aged cheeses.

Tasting notes for Château Cheval Blanc Petit Cheval 1989
To the eye – Deep ruby robe with tile-red highlights, of silky density and a crystalline brilliance, betraying a fully accomplished ripeness.
On the nose – Aromas of wild blackberry and black cherry open in the foreground, followed by notes of blonde tobacco, cedar and a hint of black truffle, all underscored by a subtle chalky salinity.
On the palate – A velvety attack, carried by a lively acidity and a melted tannic framework, where gentle spices, liquorice and a persistent minerality intertwine, leading to a finish of remarkable length.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its aromas.

A sun-drenched and generous vintage, marked by optimal grape ripeness, offering a perfect balance between power and finesse.
- Aging potential – Drink through 2030, provided it is stored in a cool cellar (12-14°C) and away from light.
