Comtes Lafon Volnay Santenots du Milieu 1993
The Volnay Premier Cru Santenots du Milieu 1993 from Domaine des Comtes Lafon is a Pinot Noir from the clay-limestone soils of Volnay. Red fruits, spices and undergrowth compose its aromatic palette, aged in barrels. On the palate, velvety and mineral, it pairs beautifully with a porcini risotto or roast lamb.
Domaine des Comtes Lafon
A family estate rooted in Burgundy, where exacting standards and respect for terroir have shaped wines of rare precision since the 19th century.
- Terroir : Vineyards located in the Côte de Beaune, on clay-limestone and marly soils, giving the wines a distinctive minerality and natural elegance.
- Vinification : Biodynamic methods, aged in oak barrels for a pure expression of Pinot Noir, without artifice.
Tasting notes for the Domaine des Comtes Lafon Volnay Premier Cru Santenots du Milieu 1993
To the eye – A garnet-red robe with tawny highlights, of silky density, betraying the maturity and depth of the wine.
On the nose – A bouquet blending black cherry confit, faded violet, a hint of damp undergrowth and a touch of chalky liquorice, all underlined by a discreet chalky salinity.
On the palate – A velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and taut minerality, unfolding aromas of ripe red fruits, gentle spices and a long, persistently elegant finish.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy glass to fully release its expression.

A vintage marked by early ripeness and remarkable balance, producing structured and harmonious wines, ideal for extended cellaring.
