This Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chênes 2013 from Domaine Michel Lafarge, born on a clay-limestone terroir, is a Pinot Noir aged in barrels. Notes of cherry, prune, and smoky minerality. Silky, fresh, and long on the palate. Best kept for 5–10 years, it pairs beautifully with game and aged cheeses.

To the eye: A garnet red robe with brick-red highlights, of silky density and crystalline brilliance.
On the nose: Aromas of black cherry and ripe prune intertwine with notes of undergrowth, liquorice, and a saline touch, like a mineral breath rising from the hillsides.
On the palate: A velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a mineral tension, unfolds into a long and precise finish, where gentle spices and melted tannins intertwine.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
