Tasting notes for the wine Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chênes 2006
To the eye: Deep garnet robe with tawny highlights, of a silky texture slightly veiled by time.
On the nose: Aromas of ripe raspberry, tangy black cherry, then smoky and earthy notes, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of undergrowth.
On the palate: A dense attack with tannins still present, balanced by a vibrant acidity and a chalky minerality, for a long and taut finish.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
