The Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru 2020, from a clay-limestone monopole, is a Pinot Noir aged in barrels. Notes of cherry and spices, a lively palate and silky tannins. Ideal for 10–15 years of aging with roasted meats or cheeses.

Tasting notes for Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru Clos du Château des Ducs 2020
To the eye: Deep ruby robe with garnet reflections, of a silky and luminous texture that already hints at its density.
On the nose: Aromas of fresh black cherry, delicate violet and wild blackberry, lifted by a hint of liquorice and a subtle chalky minerality.
On the palate: A lively and precise attack, carried by silky tannins and a taut acidity, while a saline and persistent finish reveals the full complexity of the terroir.
Serve between 14 and 16°C in a Burgundy glass to bring out its purity.

A vintage marked by optimal ripeness of the grapes, offering balanced wines that are both fruity and structured.
