Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er cru Pitures 2018 Magnum
This Volnay 1er Cru Pitures 2018 Magnum from Domaine Michel Lafarge, born on the stony soils of Pitures, offers a chalky minerality and refined tension. Fine fruit and a silky palate make it a precise wine. Perfect for 10 to 15 years, it pairs beautifully with game and aged cheeses.

Tasting notes for Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru Pitures 2018 Magnum
To the eye: A garnet red robe with deep reflections, of a silky and luminous texture, heralding a wine that is at once dense and airy.
On the nose: Aromas of Morello cherry, fresh violet and wild blackberry, lifted by a hint of liquorice and a subtle chalky minerality, evoking the limestone soils of Pitures.
On the palate: A precise and taut attack, where vibrant acidity, silky tannins and a saline finish intertwine, carried by an elegant and persistent length.
Serve between 14 and 16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
2018 Vintage
A generous yet balanced vintage, in which the summer heat ripened the grapes without altering the characteristic freshness of Volnay wines.
- Ageing potential: 10 to 15 years, to be stored in a cool cellar (12–14°C) away from light.
