Tasting notes for the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Vosne-Romanée 1er cru Duvault-Blochet 1999
To the eye – A garnet red robe with violet hues, dense and luminous, betraying a substance that is both generous and of great purity.
On the nose – Aromas of candied cherry and evolved red fruits, lifted by hints of vanilla, precious wood and wild fennel, finishing on a mineral and slightly peppery note.
On the palate – A silky, round texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, where fresh cherries, sage and a saline touch on the finish come together for an elegant, persistent length.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy glass to reveal its full complexity.
