The Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru 2017 from Domaine Duroché flourishes on the limestone soils of the Côte de Nuits. Sourced from Pinot Noir vines planted in 1920, it reveals notes of dark berries, spices and a subtle minerality. On the palate, it unites power and finesse in a silky texture. Perfect until 2050 alongside game or aged cheeses.
Heir to a family expertise rooted in Gevrey-Chambertin, the estate patiently tends history-laden vines, where each cuvée reflects the soul of the Côte de Nuits.
- Terroir: Limestone and clay-limestone soils of the Burgundian Grands Crus, where minerality expresses itself with rare elegance.
- Vinification: A precise and respectful approach, favouring natural fermentations and barrel ageing to reveal the purity of the Pinot Noir.
Tasting notes for Domaine Duroché Chambertin Clos de Bèze 2017
To the eye – A deep garnet robe with silky reflections, of a chalky density that heralds a velvety texture.
On the nose – Freshness of morello cherry and wild blackberry, evolving toward notes of liquorice, violet and a saline touch reminiscent of damp undergrowth.
On the palate – A lively, precise attack, where mineral tension embraces a fleshy yet elegant substance, leading to a long, saline finish carried by a crystalline acidity.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy glass to release its complex aromas.
