The Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes 2018 from Domaine Fourrier draws its character from 60-year-old vines. Aged in oak barrels, it captivates with its notes of cherry, spices, and minerality. On the palate, silk and freshness find perfect balance. Perfect with lamb or cheeses, it can be cellared for 10 to 15 years.
Nestled in the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin, this family estate has embodied Burgundian elegance for three generations. A pursuit of purity where the terroir dictates every choice.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Nuits, where old Pinot Noir vines draw a chalky minerality and a unique depth.
- Vinification: Precise aging in French oak barrels, respecting the natural tension of the fruit without artifice.
Tasting notes for the wine Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes 2018
To the eye – A deep ruby robe with garnet reflections, of a silky density that heralds a generous and chiseled body.
On the nose – First, aromas of black cherry and wild blackberry, followed by hints of licorice, damp undergrowth, and a saline touch recalling the flint stones of the terroir.
On the palate – A velvety yet taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality that stretches into a long and refined finish, where soft spices and ripe fruits intertwine.
Serve at 16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
