The Condrieu 2009 from E. Guigal, born on the granitic soils of the Northern Rhône, expresses the full nobility of the Viognier. Aromas of peach, apricot and white flowers, with a hint of citrus. On the palate, a velvety texture and mineral freshness, ideal with delicate dishes or for measured cellaring.
A family estate rooted in Ampuis since 1946, guardian of the great terroirs of the northern Rhône Valley.
- Terroir: The granitic hillsides of Condrieu, where Viognier flourishes into a mineral and fruity expression, typical of the white wines of the Northern Rhône.
- Vinification: A precise elaboration, combining tradition and modernity to preserve the aromatic purity and silky texture of the grape variety.
Tasting notes for E. Guigal Condrieu 2009
To the eye: A golden robe with pale highlights, of crystalline clarity, heralding a texture that is both rich and elegant.
On the nose: Aromas of white peach and ripe apricot intertwine with notes of clementine and hawthorn blossom, lifted by a saline and mineral touch, the hallmark of the finest Condrieu wines.
On the palate: A round and generous attack, carried by a richness balanced by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, leading to a long and taut finish.
Serve between 10 and 12°C in a Burgundy-style white wine glass to reveal its full complexity.
Vintage 2009
A sunny and well-balanced vintage, where the summer heat allowed the Viognier to reach optimal ripeness without losing its freshness.
- Ageing potential: To be enjoyed through 2025, stored away from light and temperature fluctuations, ideally between 12 and 14°C.
