The Côte Rôtie Brune et Blonde 2002 from E. Guigal is born from the ferruginous and limestone terroirs of the northern Rhône. A blend of Syrah and Viognier, aged 36 months in barrels, it reveals aromas of red fruits, tobacco and liquorice, with a silky, mineral palate. Perfect for 15 years of cellaring, it pairs beautifully with game and aged cheeses.

- Terroir : The steep hillsides of Côte-Rôtie, divided between the siliceous-limestone soils of the Côte Blonde and the ferruginous clays of the Côte Brune, sculpt Syrahs of rare elegance.
- Vinification : Patient ageing in oak barrels (36 months), respect for individual plots and meticulous blending to reveal the purity of the fruit and mineral complexity.

– To the eye : A deep cherry-red robe of silky density, where light dances on garnet reflections.
– On the nose : First lively with aromas of black cherry and ripe raspberry, then deeper notes of blonde tobacco, liquorice and a mineral touch reminiscent of flint.
– On the palate : A velvety texture, carried by precise acidity and mineral tension; candied red fruits give way to a long finish where gentle spices and a chalky saltiness intertwine.
Serve at 16-18 °C in a Burgundy-style red wine glass to fully express its complexity.

A vintage marked by balanced maturity, where cool nights preserved the brilliance of the aromas while allowing harmonious concentration.
