Tasting Notes for Château Lafite Rothschild 2023
On the eye – A deep purple robe with garnet reflections, of a silky density and crystalline brilliance, heralding a wine that is at once generous and refined.
On the nose – A bouquet of bewitching precision, where fresh blackcurrant, bitter orange peel, ripe wild strawberry and a hint of cedar intertwine, lifted by a subtle chalky note and a discreet saltiness, the signature of Pauillac's greatest terroirs.
On the palate – A velvety, almost ethereal texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality that structure a finish of saline, persistent length, where tannins of extreme finesse unfurl.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to reveal the full aromatic complexity.
Vintage 2023
A vintage of balance and freshness, where the ripeness of the fruit is allied to a remarkable mineral tension, reflecting the estate's mastery in the face of climatic vagaries.
- Aging Potential : To be cellared for 15 to 30 years in a temperature-controlled cellar (12–14°C, humidity 70%), allowing evolution toward tertiary aromas of rare complexity.
