Lafite Rothschild 1971

Château Lafite Rothschild, the emblem of Pauillac, perpetuates a heritage of excellence, producing red wines of rare elegance. The 1971 vintage, discreet yet refined, is a jewel for lovers of fine wines. Composed predominantly of Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, this wine draws its richness from a gravelly, chalky terroir, favoring a unique aromatic concentration. The balanced climate of 1971 allowed the grapes to express themselves beautifully. Hand-harvesting and parcel-by-parcel vinification in wooden and stainless steel vats, followed by 18 months' ageing in new barrels, give this wine a harmonious structure. On tasting, it reveals aromas of graphite, black fruits and spices, with a velvety texture and a fresh, mineral finish. This exceptional red wine is ideal for a memorable tasting or to enrich a collector's cellar.
