The Champagne Efflorescence Extra Brut 2019 by Marie Courtin, a Blanc de Noirs 100% Pinot Noir, comes from the clay-limestone soils of Polisot. Aged three years on lees in barrels, it reveals aromas of red plum and mint, with an ample and mineral palate. Without dosage, this lively and precise wine pairs beautifully with white meats and seafood.
A family estate rooted in the hillsides of Polisot, where biodynamics and respect for the terroir shape Champagnes of rare authenticity.
- Terroir : Kimmeridgian clay-limestone soils of the Côte des Bar, the birthplace of a deep and mineral Pinot Noir, far from the codes of Épernay.
- Winemaking : Demanding méthode champenoise – natural yeasts, extended lees aging and zero dosage – for pure and vibrant single-parcel cuvées.
Tasting notes for Marie Courtin Efflorescence Extra Brut 2019
On the eye – A pale golden robe of crystalline clarity, crossed by a string of fine and persistent bubbles, like a breath of chalk on the retina.
On the nose – First the freshness of wild mint and field herbs, then the roundness of a ripe red plum, before a saline touch and a hint of chamomile reveal the mineral depth of the terroir.
On the palate – A silky and taut texture, carried by a lively and precise acidity, where layers of dark fruits, flint and a chalky finish unfold, with a saline and elegant length.
Serve between 8 and 10°C, in a narrow flute to concentrate the aromas or a white wine glass to appreciate its complexity.
Vintage 2019
A vintage marked by generous ripeness and preserved mineral tension, giving this Champagne an ample structure and great precision.
- Aging potential : To be kept for 5 to 8 years in a cool cellar (12–14°C) and away from light, to allow its nuances to develop over time.
