The Griottes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2023 from Domaine Joseph Roty originates from the clay-limestone soils of Gevrey-Chambertin. This Pinot Noir (century-old vines) offers red fruits and spices, aged in new barrels. Mineral palate and velvety tannins. Perfect after 5 to 10 years alongside poultry.
A family estate rooted in the mythical soils of Gevrey-Chambertin, where time seems suspended between tradition and precision.
- Terroir: The vines, planted on the clay-limestone and marly soils of Griottes-Chambertin, capture the mineral essence of the Côte de Nuits.
- Winemaking: Ageing in new oak barrels, long maceration and controlled fermentation to reveal a pure and taut expression of Pinot Noir.
To the eye: A deep ruby robe with garnet reflections, of a silky and luminous density.
On the nose: Aromas of fresh morello cherry, violet and liquorice, followed by a hint of undergrowth and a chalky minerality reminiscent of limestone soils.
On the palate: A velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a mineral tension, with a long, saline finish marked by notes of black cherry and soft spices.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to fully appreciate its complexity.
A vintage marked by balanced ripeness and preserved freshness, ideal for expressing the finesse of the terroir.
- Ageing potential: 15 to 20 years, to be stored under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity).
