Tasting notes for the wine Domaine Ponsot Griottes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2014
To the eye: Deep garnet robe with ruby highlights, of silky density and crystalline brilliance.
On the nose: Freshness of morello cherry and black cherry, evolving toward notes of undergrowth, damp limestone and a saline hint of graphite, all enveloped in a subtle smoke of noble wood.
On the palate: Velvety and taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, with a long finish where gentle spices and ripe fruits intertwine.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
