From the limestone slopes of Chevalier-Montrachet, this Grand Cru 2018 from Domaine Jean-Claude Ramonet is a barrel-aged Chardonnay. Notes of white flowers, candied lemon and toasted almond, with a mineral and velvety palate. Perfect through 2035, paired with lobster or veal sweetbreads.
A family estate rooted in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, where exacting standards and respect for the terroir shape wines of rare precision.
- Terroir: Limestone and marl soils of the Grands Crus of Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet, imparting a chalky minerality and vibrant elegance to the wines.
- Vinification: Fermentation in oak barrels, patient aging and minimal intervention to preserve the purity of the Chardonnay and the tension of the fruit.
Tasting notes for Domaine Jean-Claude Ramonet Chevalier-Montrachet 2018
To the eye: A golden robe with green highlights, of crystalline clarity and a silky texture that already hints at generous substance.
On the nose: Aromas of white flowers and candied citrus intertwine with notes of roasted hazelnut and acacia honey, lifted by a saline touch reminiscent of the sea breezes of the terroir.
On the palate: A lively and precise attack, carried by taut acidity and chalky minerality, leading to a long, saline finish where nuances of flint and ripe yellow fruits unfold.
Serve between 12 and 14°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
