The Esprit Libre 2018 from Domaine Thomas Batardière celebrates the Chenin Blanc of the Anjou hillsides. Vinified without additives, this natural white offers aromas of citrus and flint, a taut and mineral palate. Perfect with seafood or sushi, to drink young or through 2025.

Nestled in the heart of Rablay-sur-Layon, this family estate embodies the alliance of an exceptional terroir and respectful viticulture, guided by biodynamics.

Tasting notes for Domaine Thomas Batardière Esprit Libre 2018
To the eye – A golden robe with pale reflections, of crystalline clarity, where a silky and light texture dances like a veil of light over the schists.
On the nose – First notes of green apple and hawthorn blossom, followed by a touch of acacia honey and candied citrus zests, before a subtle salinity recalls the influence of the Loire winds.
On the palate – A lively and precise attack, carried by a taut acidity and a chalky minerality, which stretches into a long, saline finish where hints of flint and ripe white fruits mingle.
Serve between 10 and 12°C in a Burgundy-style white wine glass to release the full complexity of its aromas.
Vintage 2018
A vintage marked by balanced ripeness and preserved freshness, lending this Chenin Blanc a remarkable mineral tension and aromatic depth.
- Aging Potential : To be kept until 2028–2030, in a cool place (12–14°C) away from light, to allow its nuances to blossom over time.
