The Amor Fati 2023, a red wine from the Loire by Domaine Thomas Batardière, comes from Grolleau noir grown on quartz and clay. Its aromas of strawberry and raspberry, its lively and mineral palate, make it a precise and elegant wine. To be enjoyed today or cellared for 3 to 5 years.
Nestled in Rablay-sur-Layon, this family estate embodies the alliance of an exceptional terroir and a philosophy of respect for the living.
- Terroir : Gravelly soils of quartz and clay in the Loire Valley, shaping wines of vibrant minerality and distinctive freshness.
- Winemaking : Natural and low-interventionist methods – indigenous yeasts, long maceration, aging in stainless steel – to reveal the purity of the fruit and the soul of the grape variety.
Tasting notes for Domaine Thomas Batardière Amor Fati 2023
On the eye – A cherry-red robe of crystalline clarity, animated by silky highlights that dance in the light.
On the nose – First, an explosion of small sun-drenched red fruits (wild raspberry, woodland strawberry, morello cherry), then a floral burst of peony and faded rose, before finishing on a saline touch and a hint of soft spices.
On the palate – A texture that is both tender and taut, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality that stretches the finish into a long saline persistence, where the freshness of the fruits and the depth of the melted tannins intertwine.
Serve between 12 and 14°C, in a Burgundy-style red wine glass to enhance its aromatic complexity.
Vintage 2023
A vintage marked by early ripeness and preserved freshness, offering a perfect balance between generous fruitiness and mineral tension.
- Aging potential : To be enjoyed now for its youthful brilliance, or cellared for 5 to 8 years in a cool cellar (12–14°C) away from light to allow its complexity to fully unfold.
