From Domaine Armand Rousseau, the Mazy-Chambertin Grand Cru 2008 is a Pinot Noir with aromas of black cherry, spices and undergrowth. Silky, fresh and mineral palate. Perfect until 2030 to accompany red meats or aged cheeses.
Domaine Armand Rousseau A family estate rooted in the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin, where the Burgundian heritage is passed down with rare rigour for nearly a century.
- Terroir: Exceptional plots in the Côte de Nuits, where the limestone and marl soils of the Grand Crus shape wines of unique mineral depth.- Vinification: A respectful approach to the fruit, combining tradition and precision, for cuvées of taut elegance and remarkable purity.
Tasting notes for Domaine Armand Rousseau Mazy-Chambertin Grand Cru 2008 To the eye – A garnet red robe with tawny highlights, of a silky density, like liquid velvet capturing the light with a chalky subtlety. On the nose – First notes of fresh morello cherry and violet, then deeper aromas of liquorice, damp undergrowth and a saline touch reminiscent of the flint stones of the terroir. On the palate – A smooth yet taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a stony minerality, with a long and saline finish, where gentle spices and tannins of aristocratic finesse intertwine. Serve at 16-18°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2008 A vintage marked by slow ripeness and rare balance, where the mineral freshness of the Grand Crus of Gevrey-Chambertin is expressed with remarkable precision.
- Ageing potential: Keep until 2030, or even beyond, under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity and away from light).
