The Chapoutier Côte-Rôtie La Mordorée 2011, from the micaceous schists of Côte-Rôtie, is an exceptional Syrah from the Northern Rhône. Dark fruits, violet and spices compose its palette, sublimated by barrel aging. On the palate, silky and mineral, it pairs with game and cheeses through to 2040.
A family house rooted in the terroirs of the Rhône, M. Chapoutier perpetuates a winemaking heritage where biodynamics reveals the soul of the soils.
- Terroir: Micaceous and ferruginous schists of Côte-Rôtie, where the Syrahs draw their minerality and tension.
- Winemaking: Full destemming, concrete vats and aging in barrels for a pure and structured expression of the grape variety.
