The Côte-Rôtie La Landonne 2007 from E. Guigal, born on the steep slopes of the Côte Brune, reveals a Syrah aged 42 months in oak barrels. Notes of dark fruits, liquorice and graphite, with a silky and mineral structure. A wine for cellaring (40–50 years), ideal with game or a mature cheese.

To the eye – A deep, almost opaque purple robe with violet hues, betraying a dense substance and a velvety texture.
On the nose – First, aromas of wild blackberry and blackcurrant, then notes of liquorice, aged leather and graphite, before a saline touch reminiscent of the terroir's schists.
On the palate – A full and fleshy attack, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, stretching into a long and taut finish, where sweet spices and silky tannins intertwine.
To be served between 16 and 18 °C, in a Burgundy-style red wine glass to release its full complexity.

A sunny yet balanced vintage, where the summer heat ripened the grapes without diminishing their freshness, yielding a wine that is both powerful and precise.
