Tasting notes for Château Cheval Blanc 1986
To the eye: A deep garnet robe with tawny reflections, of a silky density and crystalline brilliance.
On the nose: Aromas of wild blackberry, faded violet and cedar, lifted by a touch of black truffle and a subtle chalky salinity.
On the palate: Velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a stony minerality, with a long and taut finish where soft spices and candied dark fruits intertwine.
Serve between 16 and 18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.

A vintage marked by perfect ripeness, in which the freshness of the Bordeaux climate preserved the balance and tension of the wine.
- Aging potential: To be enjoyed until 2040, provided it is kept in a cool cellar (12–14°C) and away from light.
