From vines over 50 years old, the Clos Rougeard Saumur-Champigny Les Poyeux 2019 rests on a terroir of sand and tuffeau. This Cabernet Franc combines black cherry, pepper and minerality, with a fresh and silky palate. Aged in barrels, it pairs with meats and cheeses through to 2035.
A family estate rooted in Chacé since 1664, Clos Rougeard embodies the exacting standards and winemaking tradition of the Loire Valley.

Tasting notes for the wine Clos Rougeard Saumur-Champigny Les Poyeux 2019
To the eye: Deep garnet robe with silky reflections, of a chalky density revealing its limestone terroir.
On the nose: Aromas of fresh morello cherry, wild violet and black pepper, followed by a saline touch and a subtle note of graphite.
On the palate: Velvety texture, lively acidity and taut minerality, carried by a long, saline finish where liquorice and flint intertwine.
Serve between 14 and 16°C in a Bordeaux-style red wine glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2019
A vintage marked by optimal ripeness, combining concentration and freshness, typical of the great Cabernet Francs from the Loire.
- Aging potential: 15 to 20 years, to be stored in a cool cellar (12-14°C) and away from light.
